Harlavus Judemar continued weaving his way through the bustling thoroughfares of the Gabriel Market. Named long ago, most people would never know the provenance the name bestowed upon the teeming trade hub on the banks of the Orontes.

Following the flow of the river away from the market, Harlavus wound through the numerous, close packed flat-roofed buildings that were once common in this part of the world, few had withstood the fires and blights of the age of strife.

It took half an hour to reach his destination, a small prefabricated rockrete single story building. Rapping on the reinforced flakboard door Harlavus stole a glance over his shoulder, eyes darting around the shadowed alcoves and windows that overlooked his position. The door opened and the wide eyed owner ushered Harlavus Judemar inside.

“Harl, what’s wrong?”
